Take the first step toward your new life by selling items you make

You create the products; we partner with sponsors to handle the rest. Our goal is to simplify online selling, empowering you to focus on your craft and improve your situation as quickly as possible.

How can Life Works Project help me?

Life Works not only provides people with the opportunity to earn an income but does so in a way that honors and celebrates them and their artwork. Through the Life Works Project, you now have an opportunity to connect more with your community and be able to sell your art at its true value. This is a platform to sell your art and bring joy to others.

Get connected to sponsor organizations

Get easily connected to our sponsor organizations that will take on the work of handling inventory, product photos, pricing and customer service. You can focus on making the products and bettering your life while someone else handles the logistics.

We’ll spread the word for you

There’s no need to market and sell your products, we’ll do that for you. While you are creating, we are promoting you on the Life Works Project platform and encouraging people to explore the marketplace.

Keep the money you make

Life Works Project was designed to return as much income as possible to our makers. Because our focus is supporting people in difficult situations, we partner with support organizations to provide the additional support that you need to be successful.

Crafting a New Path

Rusty's Journey into Jewelry Making with Life Works Project

“In 2017, Rusty’s partner encouraged them to create jewelry as he thought that they might like it as a hobby. Once they started making necklaces and bracelets, they immediately fell in love with it. They found that it was a way to get their mind off of all the stressors in their life and a great way to create gifts for their loved ones. After honing their skills, they realized that this would be a great opportunity to get an extra income to pay for hotel and gas expenses. Rusty is so thankful for Life Works as it will help them sell their jewelry online – a medium they didn’t think was possible before.”

FAQ's

No. All makers must agree with the site Terms and Conditions and must confirm that they meet one or more of the Maker Selection Criteria. Your sponsor organization will contact you to verify this with you. We will not require proof or documentation of this.

No, Life Works Project helps you list products that you create, but doesn’t buy them from you. It is up to shoppers on the site to purchase your products. Because of this, it is important that you “listen to the market” and try to create products that others will want.

You will receive a check in the mail from Life Works Project when your product is sold. You do not need to have a bank account. Life Works Project currently does not provide direct deposit to your bank. You will be able to login to your Vendor portal to see your sales and donations.

Sometimes. Life Works Project works with sponsor organizations and partner organizations. Some of these organizations may provide training, or other resources to help you make your products.

Currently, all makers must have a sponsor organization. The sponsor will provide the additional support, including photography, listing assistance, storage, packing and shipping.

Your sponsor organization will outline its policies regarding products that don’t sell over a period of time, such as 6-12 months. In most cases, the products will simply be returned to you, or other options may be provided.

Our goal is to help the maker earn as much as possible while creating a sustainable platform. Currently, you will keep about 72% of the sales price of your product. For example, if you sell a product listed for $50, you will keep $36. Of the remainder about 3.5% will cover credit card fees and the rest will cover sales related expenses including picking, packing and shipping, photography, managing the listing and advertising.

You keep all of the money (100%) that is donated to you. The donor will decide how they want to pay for credit card fees.

You can visit your Vendor portal on the site to see how much money you have made and how much has been paid to you, and your donations.

No. A percentage of your product sales will be directed to your supporting agency or support organization.  Additional separate fees may be charged by Esty.com or other marketplace sites and are not included.

Direct donations to makers are 100% pass-through (no fees).

Buyers pay for shipping costs.
